The Vertical group has launched a new component, Cruise-connect to their established back office system, TARSC, specifically for cruise agents. Despite the economic downturn, the cruise industry continues to expand with 14 new ships being launched this year and over 1.5 Million British passengers setting sail in 2009.
The new component will support agents using both TARSC and Amadeus Cruise and will allow agents to download confirmed reservations directly from Amadeus Cruise to TARSC, which will save agents time in loading the file, reduce errors and enhance customer service levels.
Peter Healey, CEO of The Vertical group said : “ With growth in the cruise sector estimated at 2.3 % for 2009, several of our existing agents with a large interest in cruise approached us to support their business, and naturally, by adding this component we are we are pleased to be part of this exciting sector of the travel industry.”
Several customers with a significant interest in the cruise sector have been using Cruise-connect for several months and have already seen a huge increase in productivity.
Healey added “There are a limited number of systems with this facility in the UK and for existing and new customers and we can adapt to apply this to anything from a one user system to multiple users with over 3000 desktops”
