Comtec acquires Jamber and launches web-design service
Travel technology company, Comtec, has acquired travel web-design agency Jamber in order, it says, to offer a fully integrated e-commerce design and development service.

The move comes following Comtec's announcement last week that it plans several acquisitions following a management buyout led by RJD Partners which has created an acquisition fund for future growth and expansion into complementary business sectors.

Jamber's travel industry clients include Thomas Cook, Harvey World Travel, United Co-op and Hilton International. It has also completed several web-design projects for Comtec related to the technology company’s web-based selling systems and its corporate website.

Commenting, Simon Powell, CEO at Comtec said, "Jamber is a well-established specialist web-design agency, with an impressive portfolio of travel and leisure-focused clients and a reputation for delivering engaging, effective and accessible websites. Many of Comtec's
e-commerce clients require web-design services and it makes sense for us to offer a complete, integrated, design and delivery program to clients requiring an expert 'one-stop' service. Having 'in-house' design specialists will also enable us to have better control over the ongoing development of our travel agent and tour operator web-based selling systems."

Jerry Foot, founder of Jamber, will join Comtec as Head of E-Commerce and will relocate to Comtec's Cwmbran-based headquarters. Comtec indicated it plans to retain the Jamber identity and that it will continue to undertake web-design services for the broader Travel, Leisure and Tourism sectors, in addition to Comtec client and 'in-house' work.
