London – 30 October 2007: Amadeus, a global leader in technology and distribution solutions for the travel and tourism industry, today announced that Lotus Group, operator of the hugely successful dial-a-flight brand, has selected the Amadeus API - an application programming interface - to further enhance its in-house system and fares database.
Amadeus API allows Lotus Group consultants to access the Amadeus Central System via their own in-house system, providing them with a wealth of information including real-time booking and information to help them respond faster to customer needs. Amadeus API technology also serves to greatly improve the speed, reliability and performance of the selling experience for both Lotus customers and sales staff. In addition to using Amadeus API, Lotus has also deployed the award-winning Amadeus Selling Platform for post sales and ticketing.
Julian Mills, Director of Sales, Amadeus UK said: "We are extremely pleased that we have been selected as Lotus Group’s travel technology partner in this five-year deal. Our commitment to customer partnership ensures that we deliver a proven solution that is tailored to Lotus’ specific business requirements. This partnership with Lotus Group further consolidates Amadeus' market share in the UK to 30 per cent, which is a significant milestone in our UK success story as the leading technology partner for travel professionals.”
Tony Griffiths, Product Director, Lotus Group added: "We were particularly impressed by the speed and flexibility offered by the Amadeus API. We wanted a technology partner that was able to work with our developers and integrate with our existing in-house systems and Amadeus ticked the boxes on both accounts. At Lotus, we pride ourselves on excellent customer service and the Amadeus API allows us to sell more effectively and efficiently, allowing our consultants to deliver high levels of service to our customers on each and every sales call."
